I realize that everything doesn't have to be perfect. I spend too much time stressing over why it can't be. It just hit me that if everything was perfect, we would never improve in anything we do and we would also forget to call on our Lord for help. We would forget to thank Him for helping us and answering prayers. We wouldn't share our faith with others to let them know just how good our God is to us. A perfect world is what we had before Adam and Eve and forgiveness and salvation is what we have now because of Jesus and his sacrifice for us. Perfectly fine with me!

I took a hiatus, if you will, from blogging. Life has been crazy and my poor little blog got pushed to the back burner. So....I took a few hour (YES, HOURS) testing out new templates and I think I settled on this one. :)

How would you like to be a Guest Designer for FH2S?

Each month, we will be looking for someone with enthusiasm, love of scrapping and that loves to have fun!

We may just ask for your bext work for an your entry or we may post a challenge that you have to complete in order to enter.

Each call will be held approx 6 weeks before the position - for instance, the GD spot for October will be held in late August, the call for Nov will be held in Sept and so on.

You will not be allowed to hold back to back GD spots but can apply again after one month has passed.

REQUIREMENTS:
YOU MUST BE ACTIVE IN THE FORUM AND GALLERY

You must use the product you are sent to create layouts for displaying techinques, classes or both for the FH2S members to view.

You will be responsible for posting the QOTD or the SQOTD

You must be available for the monthly crop and participate (each call will have the crop date posted)

You must be active in the forum and gallery during your month guest spot.

You will be required to post your work on your blog with a link back to FH2S

What do you receive?

You will be sent some scrappy supplies to use (this may be embellishment, pp or both) - we are not a kit club and do not have a store but we can provide you with some great things!

You will get the bragging rights for being a Guest Designer and can add it to your resume and blog!

You will get a special blinkie to post in your sig for your duration and one for being a past GD when your time is up!

You will have your photo and bio posted for all to see!!

After being sick again this past weekend (seriously, the cold virus just LOVES ME) - I haven't found time to post the layouts I got done over the Valentine's Weekend crop at FROM HERE 2 SCRAPTERNITY - we have crops every month with lots of challenges, fun and games!! The winner of the crop was rewarded with a Scrap For A Cure Mini Kit (courtesy of FH2S) - how fun is that??

Here are the layouts I got done.....

This was for a red, white and blue challenge that had to have stars and stripes but could not be about the 4th of July

This next one was for a recipe challenge - no pp, paint, fabric, love quote and few other things - I used MM paint with foam stamps to make the background...

this last one (I only got 3 done) was for a sketch challenge

Do Not Fear.......

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand

This is one of my favorite scriptures. It is a very small yet powerful passage. It's clear cut and to the point.
DO NOT FEAR, FOR I AM WITH YOU - I never feel alone because He will never leave me
I AM YOUR GOD - which He truly is....
I WILL STRENGTHEN YOU - I don't know about you but He has done this for me many times, even when I thought I could bear no more
and HELP YOU - more times than I could ever count, I know I was spared by Him

This past week my 7 year old son, Jace, and I were both sick. Jace had spiked a fever so quickly and was very weak. I was very scared....but just for a moment. Because I knew that once I started to pray and ask our Lord to wrap His healing hands around my son, that things would be okay. I believe that it's not God's will for us to suffer, but it is His will for us to ask Him for help. Then and only then, will we be free of the fear that comes from not having faith. We are both feeling better and I know that following God's will; asking Him for healing; is the only reason we have recovered.

So I'd like you to remember:
If you are going to pray, don't worry (God has a handle on it from there)
and if you are going to worry, don't bother praying (He will allow you to take it if you don't trust him).....

I was so ill this past weekend - I came down with some awful stomach bug that had me laid up for 2 days straight and the after effects are still with me :(
I was so bummed too because Scrap For A Cure had their Autumn Bliss Crop and I missed out on all the fun! Well, except for stealing a RAK of Glimmer Mist (sorry Suzanne) - from all the great layouts I can see it, it was a huge success!!

Well, thank goodness I am on the mend!!!

We all too often rush to get the newest this and the newest that, but we really should be rushing to make sure that we have stored up our treasures with The Almighty!
You can't take those items with you that make you squeal with delight when you get your hands on them. No matter how many of this or how many of that you have, it's not what you need - what you need is one thing....your faith that Jesus has saved your place in Heaven and will be coming back one day to take you home. I take great comfort in that and when I have to leave that store without that beautiful doodad or whoohoo and feel that empty feeling cause I couldn't spend my money (or didn't have it to spend), I can rest assured that my *treasure* in Heaven is there, waiting for me and the price has already been paid.....so instead of investing in that super deluxe gadget of the moment, take time to invest in Him.

I have to admit, I didn't think I would be able to do anything with these items at first, but once I got started it was fun! I really liked using different items that aren't what I would normally use - like the magazine cover and the safety pin I added the beads to! I haven't been the best at getting to church lately - we belong to a fabulous Lutheran church that is just around the corner but I just haven't felt compelled - do read my bible and I am currently reading a book that outlines the books but that's it. I know that God does not look poorly upon me for not going although I should be there to support the church and others that worship.
Next week is Kickoff week so we do plan to go then - KickOff week is when the kids sign up again for Sunday school and they have lots of fun activities.
I look forward to it every year as a new beginning :)

A few weeks back, Amy from Gauche Alchemy posted on Willow Traders that she was looking for average scrappers to do an experimental *Don't be scared* series. What is that you ask? She wants to show average scrappers that they too can utilize out of the ordinary and out of the box products to make great projects and layouts!!
I think my scrapping is pretty average so I threw my name into the hat!
Well guess what??? I GOT CHOSEN along with 3 other average scrappers to help her with this feat!! HOW SWEEEEET IS THIS????
Keep a lookout for more to come - I will be getting awesome things to work with, things like what you see here Gauche Alchemy Store and guidance on how they can be used!!
I AM SOOOO STOKED!!!!! WHOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!

Back in the saddle

Geez - time sure flies! I have been out of the loop for a bit but now I am back.
I have made a few decisions as of late that have been a long time coming.
I have been doing too much for too long and have decided to cut back on some responsibilities that I had to give me more time to follow other avenues.
I have decided to leave my scrapbooking board *From Here 2 Scrapternity* for a bit (a hiatus if you will) so that I have time to explore other communities and maybe apply for a DT or two. I founded FH2S 2 (or maybe it was 3) years ago and we have had some really good times there! The ladies that are there now are wonderful and although we don't have a DT anymore, there are still crops monthly.
If you get time, stop by there and visit - it's a great place.
Just not the place for me at this time......

I'm off work today and it's the first day of summer vacation for the kids!
They are really excited to be out. I am still working on my layouts for the DT call. I can't post them because they have to be brand new but I am happy with the 2 I have made so far. I have 2 more to go plus and altered item. Not sure what will that will be.

I am working on some layouts to submit for A DT call. Isn't it funny how the process goes? You find a call, you give it your all and if you're lucky, the hard work pays off and if not, well, then you try again. I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason so if this doesn't pan out for any reason, I will be giving it a go again!

I know this is not scrappy related (well, at least not until I get them scrapped - lol)
but I had to share a series of photos of my 2nd oldest son tearing down the slip and slide 1-2-3! I know, they ruin the grass...blah blah - but I will take smashed grass anyday just to see the joy that this $9.99 water slide gave my kids! (the others were inside when I snapped these)

I was trying to name it and one of my best friends helped me! I think it will do for now.
